Gloomy Dungeons 3D is a lightweight FPS game that has no in-app purchases and no adverts. It is a raw and basic shooter that allows you to unlock more guns and technology as you progress through the game. Make your way through darkly lit dungeons and blast the monsters that creep up on you. Move through the 3D environments while blasting 2D enemies from army men to massive monsters such as snakes and demons.
An 8-bit graphics game that looks and feels like the old Doom games
Gloomy Dungeons 3D is a game for all those nostalgia junkies who want to dabble with 8-bit graphic games. The game is varied enough, thanks to the many enemies and weapons, but hardcore gamers will have the game beaten within five hours. You have to move using the arrow buttons on the screen, and you shoot by tapping the screen. Surveying the local area is tricky, but most of the action happens in the direction you are facing. It is only in later levels where attacks come from different sides, at which point you have to move around and maneuver before shooting.
The game is easy and a bit of fun for FPS fans
Gloomy Dungeons 3D was not built as an epic saga and the storyline is almost non-existent. It was built for people who enjoy older FPS games such as Doom, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem. The ability to navigate the 3D environment gives the game an edge over older games that were more like rail shooters. The game doesn?t require a massive amount of skill, so you may pick it up and put it down over the course of a few weeks or months and still be able to beat the game without dying too often. The game is easy, but that is a positive point because if it had been any harder, then the game would become too frustrating and would lose its replay value.
